CDC NSW LAUNCHES COMMEMORATIVE ANZAC DAY BUS ON THE CENTRAL COAST - CDC NSW

CDC NSW staff joined veterans and leaders from the Central Coast community to officially unveil a special commemorative "Anzac Spirit" bus that pays tribute to Australians who currently serve and have served in the Australian Defence Forces.

The "Anzac Spirit" bus will travel around the Central Coast featuring a custom exterior wrap design that include silhouettes of Australian diggers, poppies, an Australian sunrise, and the words "Lest We Forget" prominently displayed.

This initiative began with a request from CDC NSW staff members who wanted to honour their colleagues who had served, as well as pay respect to all Anzacs. What began last year with two buses operating in the Hunter Valley and Sydney has now grown to include four buses in total, also servicing Queanbeyan and the Central Coast community.

Chief Executive Officer of CDC NSW, David Mead said, "CDC NSW is honoured to commemorate the courage and sacrifice of our Australian veterans and active military members through these special 'Anzac Spirit' bus designs."

"Our staff worked closely with our design team to create these meaningful bus wraps, and CDC NSW has proudly funded these commemorative designs as our way of paying tribute to those who have sacrificed so much for our country."

"CDC NSW employs many veterans across New South Wales, and this initiative is also our way of recognising staff members and thanking them for their service. Excitedly, these buses will also be used to transport veterans and their families to and from Anzac Day events on the Central Coast and across Sydney, Queanbeyan and the Hunter Valley.”

The "Anzac Spirit" buses will remain in operation for one month following Anzac Day as travelling memorials throughout Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Queanbeyan and the Central Coast.

President of the Entrance and Long Jetty RSL Sub-branch, Len Mackie, said “The Anzac bus is a fabulous advertisement for ANZAC Day and we are ever so grateful to CDC NSW for supporting us and our veterans.”

CDC NSW Bus Driver and Veteran said "as a veteran, this bus holds deep significance for me, and I know it will have a meaningful impact on the veterans throughout our community. We're excited to showcase this special bus to the public and connect with our fellow ex-serviceman through this initiative."

This expanded program ensures more communities can participate in this tribute to service members, providing a daily reminder of the Anzac legacy.
